CALCULATING ENERGY VALUES

As with the DeKo thesis of a currency backed by a unit of electrical energy the value of GENERcoin will be calculated by the amount of electrical energy each btu converts to.

 

Each GENERcoin is a claim, a receipt, for the energy backing each coin and may be redeemed for the energy backing it, or traded and exchanged as with any other cryptocurrency.

 

Each coin will be sold at a discount to the present day value of btu energy backing it. The value of btu energy is derived from the amount of electrical energy it produces.

 

The formulation and valuation is listed below and can also be determined from the Argus Media Biomass Market Report which also indicates the trends in biofuel energy and prices.

 

Whereas no one can predict the future of prices the Argus Report indicates an expanding market with higher prices for renewable biomass as a result of increased demand from a world shifting from fossil fuel energy to renewables due to legislation and Cap and Trade.

 

 

GENERCOIN VALUATION

 

 

To begin we will use the starting point of Megawatt hours per tonne (Mwh/t).

 

One Megawatt hour is equal to 3,412,124 btu and is valued at $34.10 USD as per Argus Media Biomass Market Report

10,000 btu/lb = 22,000,000 btu/t = $6.45 Mwh/t = $219.95t

 

$219.95t / 2200lbs = .10c per lb
